April Home Maintenance Checklist

Spring is here! Take advantage of the warmer weather to give your home a seasonal refresh. Heres your April Home Maintenance Checklist:

Exterior & Yard

• Inspect the roof for winter damage (missing shingles, leaks)

• Clean out gutters and downspouts

• Check the foundation for cracks or water damage

• Power wash the siding, deck, and driveway

• Trim trees and bushes away from your home

• Start prepping your garden and lawn (fertilize, reseed, mulch)

Windows & Doors

• Wash windows inside and out

• Inspect screens for holes and replace if needed

• Check weather stripping and caulking around doors/windows

• Clean and lubricate door hinges and locks

HVAC & Plumbing

• Change air filters in your HVAC system

• Schedule an A/C tune-up before summer

• Test outdoor faucets and check for leaks

• Flush the hot water heater to remove sediment buildup

Interior Upkeep

• Deep clean carpets and floors

• Declutter and organize closets and storage spaces

• Check smoke & carbon monoxide detectors (replace batteries if needed)

• Reverse ceiling fans to counterclockwise for summer airflow
