Exterior Spring Prep
☐ Clean out eavestroughs & downspouts
☐ Check roof for loose/missing shingles
☐ Inspect siding for cracks, mold, or damage
☐ Wash exterior windows & screens
☐ Check foundation for new cracks
☐ Make sure downspouts direct water away from home
☐ Inspect driveway & walkways for winter damage
Yard & Landscaping
☐ Rake lawn & remove winter debris
☐ Edge garden beds
☐ Prune shrubs & trees (before full bloom)
☐ Test irrigation/sprinkler systems
☐ Fertilize lawn (weather permitting)
☐ Reseed bare patches
Plumbing & Water Systems
☐ Turn outdoor water taps back on
☐ Check for pipe leaks
☐ Test sump pump (especially important in Belleville area spring thaw!)
☐ Inspect water heater for corrosion or leaks
☐ Clean bathroom exhaust fans
HVAC & Indoor Systems
☐ Replace furnace filter
☐ Schedule A/C servicing before summer rush
☐ Vacuum vents & cold air returns
☐ Test smoke & carbon monoxide detectors
☐ Check caulking around windows & doors
Interior Spring Refresh
☐ Deep clean baseboards & window sills
☐ Rotate mattresses
☐ Check attic for moisture or pests
☐ Organize garage before full outdoor season
☐ Declutter closets (perfect time to donate!)
Pro Tip:
April is the best month to tackle small exterior fixes before listing season gets busy. Homes that are well maintained always photograph better and show stronger.
