June Home Maintenance Checklist

Keep your home running smoothly as summer settles in.

June is where everything shifts - longer days, warmer nights, and more time spent enjoying your home inside and out. This is the month to maintain momentum, stay ahead of wear and tear, and make sure everything is running efficiently for the hottest stretch of the year.

Outdoor Living & Entertaining:

☐ Deep clean BBQ (grates, burners, drip tray)

☐ Wipe down and inspect patio furniture

☐ Check umbrellas and outdoor shade structures

☐ Refresh outdoor décor (pillows, planters, lighting)

☐ Sweep and maintain deck/patio weekly

Lawn & Garden Care:

☐ Water lawn early morning (avoid midday heat)

☐ Mow regularly and adjust blade height for summer

☐ Trim hedges and shrubs

☐ Deadhead flowers to encourage new blooms

☐ Check irrigation system for leaks or inefficiencies

Exterior Maintenace:

☐ Inspect siding, brick, or stucco for damage

☐ Clean exterior windows for maximum light

☐ Check roof vents and soffits for blockages

☐ Seal small cracks in driveway or walkways

☐ Look for signs of pests around foundation

Cooling & Energy Efficiency:

☐ Replace or clean HVAC filters

☐ Make sure A/C is running efficiently

☐ Keep outdoor unit clear of debris

☐ Use blinds/curtains to block midday heat

☐ Ensure ceiling fans rotate counterclockwise

Plumbping and & Safety Checks:

☐ Check outdoor hoses and connections for leaks

☐ Inspect sprinkler heads for proper function

☐ Look for signs of water damage indoors

☐ Test smoke & carbon monoxide detectors

☐ Make sure basement stays dry after heavy rain

Interior Summer Reset:

☐ Light clean and maintain high-traffic areas

☐ Rotate and wash seasonal bedding

☐ Organize mudroom or entryway for summer use

☐ Declutter kids’ items, toys, or seasonal gear

☐ Keep humidity in check (especially basements)
