According to the National Association Of Realtors®, staged homes sell three to 30 times faster than the non-staged competition. Further, staging can help increase the sale price by up to 20% on average.


Whether you decide to hire a professional home stager when selling your home or prefer to do it yourself, here are a few do's and don'ts of home staging that you should know!


DO → paint over bright walls with a neutral colour

DON’T → neglect curb appeal

DO → utilize natural light

DON’T → forget to put away your personal belongings

DO → declutter, declutter, declutter

DON’T → do major renovations before talking with your real estate agent

DO → deep clean every nook and cranny

DON’T → leave pet bowls, toys, litter boxes, or dog bones laying around

DO → stick to neutrals

DO → start packing

DO → focus on the kitchen
