Bay of Quinte Market Update: May

The Hastings County real estate market continues to show strong activity — and the numbers back it up.

Sales on the RiseBuyer interest in the region remains steady, with the number of residential sales in Hastings County jumping 23% year-over-year. In May 2024, there were 197 homes sold. Fast forward to May 2025, and that number has climbed to 243 sales. This upward trend speaks to growing demand and the ongoing appeal of the region to both local and out-of-town buyers.

Prices Adjusting

While sales are up, the average sale price has slightly dipped — from $572,707 in May 2024 to $544,235 in May 2025. This modest decrease may reflect increased inventory, changing interest rates, or a shift in buyer preferences. For buyers, this could mean more opportunity and negotiating power, especially with continued interest in the area.

What It Means for You

  • Sellers: With more buyers actively searching, well-priced and well-presented homes are still moving.

  • Buyers: A slight cooling in average prices could make this a strategic time to enter the market or upgrade.

  • Investors: The sustained sales activity shows continued long-term confidence in Hastings County as a place to invest.
